Refrigerator Repair
FRIDGE MAKES CLICKING SOUND? From the very beginning, it is important to mention that it is normal if you hear some sounds your fridge produces once in a while. This sound can come from the ice-making function or from the defrost timer if your fridge is a no-frost model. But you must know the model of your appliance and the functions it provides. If, for example, along with the clicking sound you notice the increase of the internal temperature, it means that the compressor is overheated, and the sound is the indicator of it turning off. In this case, the problem can be connected with condenser coils. If condenser wires are dirty, it cannot work properly so you need to unplug the fridge and put the coils at the back of the appliance. You can clean the coils with a brush (not a sharp one), do not use towels or damp cloths to clean condenser coils. The other reason for the clicking sound can be the malfunctioning of the start relay. That is possible to happen when your fridge does not cool products and you hear these sounds really often, every four-five minutes. If there are some problems with the start relay, it can provide clicking sounds pretending it all works but, in this way, the compressor itself does not work. To solve this problem, unplug the fridge, put the start relay out and shake it. For detailed instructions and support you are welcome to contact our technicians.
