Freezer Not Working Properly? Can you imagine your life without household appliances like a washing machine or a freezer? They’ve become an integral part of our life long ago and it seems a real problem if something goes wrong with them. Here are some reasons why your freezer might not be working properly: Reason 1: Start Relay To examine the start relay, you should disconnect the device and take the start relay out of the compressor. Then examine it with a multimeter. Reason 2: Evaporator Fan Motor To examine the evaporator fan motor, you should open the door of the freezer and push the door switch. If pushing makes it active, but the evaporator fan motor doesn’t work, it must be replaced. Reason 3: Condenser Coils When the condenser coils get dirty, it prevents the freezer from freezing properly. They must be cleaned once or twice a year. Reason 4: Condenser Fan Motor First, make sure there no obstructions in the fan blades. Then check if they turn well. If they don’t, the condenser fan motor must be renewed. If they turn freely, use a multimeter to test the fan motor for continuity. Change it if it has no continuity. Reason 5: The Temperature Control Thermostat To examine the thermostat, turn it from minimum to maximum setting. If you can’t hear a click, the thermostat is likely to be defective.
