Washer Will Not Start?

A common problem with a washer is that it does not start. Of course, it can disappoint you, especially if you’ve got a pile of clothes to be washed. But it’s not actually so bad – in most cases you can try to solve the problem on your own. First of all, check the power supply. Your washing machine must be plugged in, the breaker switch turned on, and the fuse in running order. Then, ensure the door is shut down – otherwise, the washing machine will not start. If you’re the owner of a front door washer, examine the door switch strike that is located in the door frame. If you own a top load model, inspect a lid switch which is under the lid. In both cases, you should test it for continuity using a multimeter. If there is no continuity, the door switch (or the lid switch) must be replaced. If there’s a mechanical timer knob on your washer, inspect it. If it’s worn out, it will not be capable of engaging the timer shaft and activating the washer. In such cases, the knob needs to be renewed. If you’ve used your washer several times in a row and it doesn’t start this time, the problem may be overheating. Give it several hours to cool down and try again. It can help and the washer will start, but take into account that overheating is caused by other problems. In this case, you’ll need professional assistance. If you need help or just want to save time, contact us. We’ll fix your washer fast and you’ll definitely be satisfied with the result.
